I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

If a grain of wheat remains in the granary, it will be safe and secure, but it will feed nobody and produce no fruit; it is useless. If it is eaten, it satisfies the hunger of only one and that for a very brief time. However, if it is planted, if it gives itself up, it can produce many seeds which can feed many and do much good.

The way to fruitfulness lies through death. It is true for the grain of wheat; it is true for Jesus; and it is true for us (Mat 16:24).

Matthew 16:24  Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
