When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me.

“sees” = theoreo = to behold, perceive, or consider. He who steadily considers the Son does so also with the Father (#1:18, 13:20, 14:9).

John 1:18  No-one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

John 13:20  I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”

John 14:9  Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
