Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

Pilate came out first and announced that he was bringing Jesus forth so they could see for themselves what he had already discovered: that Jesus was innocent. Pilate is making this as dramatic as possible to sway the crowd from the control of the chief priests to a just verdict. The problem here is that Pilate has already erred by giving control of the situation to the crowd and should have just dismissed the charges against Jesus himself.
