Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.

This proverb has a variety of applications in the world and in Christian service.  Can you think of any?  One is the difference between the teacher and the evangelist.  Another application is that we are reaping the results of the previous generation’s sins. But Jesus is speaking of evangelism here.

One of our faults today is that we want immediate results. Sometimes they come immediately, but sometimes they don’t. You may be a reaper or you may be a sower. We must learn to be content to sow without reaping. We should just trust God, in faith, to produce a crop from our sowing and not try to force something ahead of God’s schedule.
