Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.

Upon finding that Jesus was no longer around, the crowd went to Capernaum, the direction in which the disciples had gone, in order to find Him. They had a double motive:

  1. they still wanted to make Him king
  2. they wanted more food
