But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

The Mount of Olives was one of the favorite places of Jesus to spend the night (Luke 21:37, 22:39). He probably had to stay there because He didn’t have a house in which to stay (Mat 8:20). He did that for our sakes (2 Cor 8:9).

Luke 21:37  Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,

Mat 8:20  Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

2 Cor 8:9  For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
