He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”

On his way home from the Pool of Siloam, he has apparantly been asking as to the personage of his Healer and has found out that His name is Jesus. The former blind man refers to Jesus as “a man” which indicates his very limited awareness of Who Jesus really is. It is interesting to observe how this man’s insight into the significance of Jesus increases as the chapter progresses. His answer is very short and to the point. He tells them what he knows.
