In the early days of the church Herod had Peter arrested and put in prison awaiting trial. The church was earnestly praying for Peter and his release but God did not answer their prayer until the night before he was going to be tried. Only then did He send an angel to effect his escape (Acts 12:1-11). What we can learn from this is that God doesn’t always immediately answer our prayers, but He does so when we need it the most.
